December 2017 Newsletter

Tis the Season of Thanksgiving and Sharing and we have much to be Thankful for at Rufty-Holmes Senior Center.

We are thankful for:
The smiles and greetings we freely share with each other; it gives others a lift and warms our own hearts

Volunteers who teach classes, help with events, take training to counsel on Medicare or Taxes, and many other large and small tasks

Staff who cheerfully help and encourage us to be our best selves

Rowan County citizens who give to our local United Way; we surpassed our goal this year; THANKS!

Community Organizations who partner with us to offer Lunch Club sites so our county’s seniors have a “close to home” place to get a nutritious meal and fellowship with others

The list of “Thanks” can go on and on as we think about our everyday blessings. We are thankful you choose to be part of Rufty-Holmes!

Note the Medicine Take Back Day we are hosting on Tuesday, December 12. It’s a good time to get rid of medicines you no longer need. Let’s do our part in reducing drug abuse and not providing temptation to others in our medicine cabinets.

The Center will only be closed three days during the holidays, Dec. 25 & 26 & Jan. 1. The staff will be here, so come on in and join us for a cup of coffee and a chat. No need to feel alone, we always have something going on. Who knows, there may be an extra Christmas cookie or two to go with that coffee!

Blessings to you in this Holiday Season! ~ Nan
