In 7 years, 1 in 5 North Carolinians will be age 65 and older (year 2025)
In the next 20 years in Rowan County, people age 65 and older will increase 92% while state growth will increase 76%
Today, Rowan County’s older adults, age 65 and older:
-10.5% are living below 100% of poverty level
-27% are living between 100-200% of poverty level
-26% are living alone

-Approx. 800 adults, age 60+, are responsible for children under age 18
-Adults age 65 and older living with Alzheimer’s Disease in NC is expected to increase 31% in the next 7 yrs.
