Special Services

   The Center hosts special programs to help older adults with income tax filing which is handled by AARP Tax-Aide Counselors, and Medicare and health insurance counseling which is handled by trained SHIIP volunteers.  Limited legal services are also available through NC Legal Aid, Inc.

   Located within the Center are the offices of the Rowan County Senior Services Department which provides assistance to individual older adults and their family members in the areas of nutrition, transportation, employment, in-home services, adult day care, and case management.

   Both Rufty-Holmes and Senior Services maintain information on various community programs and services and can assist persons in becoming program or community volunteers.
